Sheryl Howard
Sheryl Howard is a New Orleans native and graduate of Louisiana State University and the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at LSU. Sheryl launched her legal career in 1992 as a staff attorney with the Law Offices of Richard E. Britson, Jr., where she began trying cases in her first year. She went on to serve as a senior trial attorney for the Law Offices of Harold G. Toscano and the Law Office of Thomas H. Barnett. In 2003, she was appointed Judge Pro Tempore for the Orleans Parish Civil District Court by the Louisiana Supreme Court. Over her career, Sheryl has handled more than 900 cases and tried over 100 judge and jury trials, including complex cases involving catastrophic injuries. She is admitted to practice in all Louisiana state courts and is an active member of several bar associations.
ABOUT THE COURT
Sheryl Howard is running for a seat on the Orleans Parish Civil District Court, which handles a wide range of non-criminal legal matters—from family law and custody disputes to property, contract, and personal injury cases. The court plays a vital role in protecting individual rights and resolving civil disputes that impact everyday lives. The specific division Sheryl will run for will be determined once the election is officially called. With over 30 years of legal experience and a deep commitment to public service, Sheryl is ready to bring her sense of fairness, integrity, and professionalism to the bench.
